How do I get started with speech sound therapy for a 2 - 3 year old?

Two year olds are often presenting with many missing sounds in their speech inventory. They are still learning words and learning how to make sounds.

Is it actually language therapy that needs to happen?

Often as language develops, so too does the ability to produce new phonemes. We can share with parents the Speech and Language Pyramid at the speech and language pyramids to help parents understand that we may need to work on the child having a vocabulary of 200- 600 words before starting on speech sounds

What is a fun way that considers the child's current attention and resilience?

Miccio cards are a great way to get started for children who are younger or need a playful way to start working on their sounds. Here are some articles and and links to Adele Miccio's Miccio Cards and research
